Bikini Line Hair Removal - Beach Blues

Hair Care Down There brings you the following article:

Bikini Line Hair Removal - Beach Blues

Bikini line hair removal is fast catching on as more and more women want the area that is exposed by the bikini to be clear of hair. This can be embarrassing as many bikinis are not designed to cover those parts of the anatomy that are likely to sprout hair and wearing bikinis that use more cloth is not an option for these candidates.

Do It Yourself or Let A Beautician Do It for You

In most cases it is better for a trained beautician to carry out the bikini line hair removal for you as you may not be able to remove all the hair or might just apply the lotion or cream to the sensitive areas and cause yourself some discomfort in the process. Though there are many bikini line hair removal processes available, few can be carried out personally.

Methods of Bikini Line Hair Removal

Whatever the method you use for bikini line hair removal always remember never to wet the region with water before removing the hair. If you are applying some lotion or cream then always test the product on a small part of the skin before applying it on a wider surface. You never know when you will erupt into an allergic reaction to the chemical. When you are ready to proceed with the bikini line hair removal procedure you must clean the area with some disinfectant and wipe it dry with a moist towel then wait for the area to dry completely before proceeding with the rest of the cleaning.

If you are shaving the area you must never use a switchblade but only a safety razor made for the purpose. After the bikini line hair removal you must exfoliate the skin with a sponge to prevent the dead skin to force the hair from growing inward and causing extreme discomfort.

About the Positions

You must sit in a chair with your feet above your waist and your legs spread wide apart. Or sit with one leg above your waist and the other on the floor. The objective of these positions is to have the bikini line to be spread as taut as possible; this will ensure minimum discomfort while waxing or shaving. Never shave against the growth as this will cause in hair growth.

Electrolysis or laser treatment for bikini line hair removal is the best and most permanent method of bikini line hair removal, as this treatment does not leave any discoloration of the skin. This is something all the other methods, except waxing, cannot guarantee.

You can try laser hair removal to permanently get rid of unwanted hair. Find out also cost of laser hair removal here.

Bikini Line Hair Removal

There are various methods of hair removal such as waxing, shaving, plucking, tweezing, electrolysis, and laser treatments, depending on individuals' skin tones and resistance power. Bikini line hair removal is vital for hygiene purposes and many women undergo the procedure at least once a month.

Shaving is a more convenient and less painful method for removing hair from the pubic areas. It is cheap, affordable and can be carried out in the privacy of the individuals' homes. Women, who choose to shave, must make sure they select a safety razor that is designed specially for removing bikini line hair. There are many electronic razors available in the market that are safe, hassle free, but are more expensive. However fast, shaving can sometimes prove to be a problem, as the pubic hair grows fast and needs to be removed more frequently. Women opting for shaving must know the side effects of it, which include skin irritation, razor bumps, rough growth, itching, and ingrowths.

Bikini Waxing is a long-term solution for removing hair as the hair is pulled out from the roots, which slows down the growth rate. It can be done on a monthly basis. Since bikini waxing is painful, women are hesitant to use this as an option to remove pubic hair. For such hesitant customers, the laser hair removal or hair removing lotions and creams prove to be useful. Although the creams and lotions are inexpensive, the laser treatment can cost a fortune, since it mostly provides with permanent hair removal solutions.

Depilatory lotions or creams take less than ten minutes for removing bikini line hair. It is advisable to avoid using depilatory lotions on the pubic area as they may cause skin rashes and itching. Hence, women use them along the bikini line only. It is better to try the product on particular part of the skin and keep it under observation for 24 hours before applying them on the bikini line, as the chemicals may not suit all skin types and can cause skin burns or allergic reactions.

A Romantic Gift For The Holidays

If your significant other grooms their pubic hair and you do too why not have a spa party at home? All you need to get started is a babysitter (if you have kids), a pubic hair shaving kit like The Ultimate Shaving Kit, some candles, bubble bath, champagne and flowers. Suprise your mate by lighting candles and placing them all around the bathroom, icing the bubbly and running a scented bubble bath. When your mate comes home ask him or her to join you in the bubble bath! After bathing and soaking take turns shaving and grooming each other's pubic hair. Then rinse off, pour the champagne and head to the bedroom. I can't think of anything more romantic. To buy the pubic hair removal kit visit http://www.haircaredownthere.com

Guide To Shaving Pubic Hair For Men

We've discovered a site that focuses on pubic hair grooming for men. This is a fabulous idea. There are many sites that concentrate on pubic hair grooming for women... one for men is sorely needed. Their shaving guide is fairly good but they do tell men not to use shaving cream. I don't know how you can shave hair without shaving cream or gel and we suggest you use a clear shaving gel for lubrication and so you can see where you're going. It's like a GPS navigator system for your pubes. You can get the only clear shaving gel made for pubic hair at http://www.haircaredownthere.com.

To Stand Or Not To Stand? That Is The Question.

We often get asked whether pubic hair shaving should be done reclining in the bathtub or standing up in the shower. Standing up in the shower only works if the shower is part of a tub/shower combo. You need an elevated surface to put your leg on while you are shaving. If you don't have the tub/shower combo we recommend you recline in the bathtub (after having a lovely bubble bath) and prop one leg up on the side of the tub while you shave that side of your inner thigh and pubic area. Do the same with the opposite leg. If you have the tub/shower combo be sure to face away from the stream of shower water so your shaving gel won't wash off. Take your time and shave carefully no matter where you prop your legs!

The Formulas Make All The Difference

You've probably seen so many options for pubic hair removal. Most of them are just straight or electric razors. They don't differ much... although you'll see many claims that each one gives you a closer shave than the others. What really makes the difference in pubic hair grooming or removal is the shaving cream/gel and lotions you use. Commercial products burn the skin in the pubic area because it is so much thinner than the skin on the rest of your body.

Hair Care Down There makes the difference with their exclusive formulas made only for the pubic area. No other company offers this type of product that prevents razor rashes, bumps and ingrown hair.

Our shaving gel is a minimum foam that is clear so you can see where you're going. The formula includes moisturizes to keep your skin smooth. Our post shave spray contains salicylic acid that prevents irritation, itching and ingrown hair. Our moisturizer contains aloe, Allanton and Vitamins B & E to keep your skin soft and supple.

Without these formulas you will most likely suffer from post shaving irritation. To learn more visit http://www.haircaredownthere.com

Painless Ingrown Hair Removal

Have you ever had razor bumps and ingrown hair in your pubic area? Chances are that you tried exfoliation to solve the problem but didn't get the results you wanted. Some new advice, courtesy of Women's World Magazine, is to use a clean, old toothbrush with your body scrub and gently glide it back and forth over your irritated area. This creates more friction gently to open up your pores.

Smart women, and men, know if they want to avoid rashes and ingrown hair they go to http://www.haircaredownthere.com to buy products guaranteed not to cause these painful problems!

Dr. Damery On Shaving Myths

On our Hair Care Down There site Greg Damery, MD, FACOG answers questions about shaving. This question is one we get all the time:

Q: Is it true if I shave that it will cause my hairs to become thicker and darker when they regrow? Mary Anne, FL

A: Actually, this is NOT true, although I hear this comment in the office all the time. It is a widespread MYTH that shaving causes a darkening and thickening of hair.

The part of the hair that protrudes out of our skin is called the hair shaft. The part that penetrates the skin layer and is contained within the follicle is called the hair root. The deepest part of the hair is the hair bulb or matrix. It is in the matrix where the hair growth takes place. The hair itself is made up of several layers that are applied as the hair grows outward.

If hair is shaven then the shaft of the cut hair is trimmed off at the skin level. This doesn't affect the growth of the hair, which is occurring at the base of the hair in the matrix. Usually within a day or two the cut shaft will once again protrude from the skin, with its same diameter and color. The cut surface will be sharper than before due to the recent cut. To avoid skin irritation, try using Hair Care Down There products. We've tested them in our office and they work.

Forum Thread On Shaving The "Naughty Bits"

The handbag forum has a hot discussion going on about "Shaving lady bits - regrowth and stubble help". There are dozens of suggestions for the poster but none of them mention Hair Care Down There. You may find conditioner will help soften hair or some say deoderant should be used after shaving! I think the real point here is that you should use products made for the pubic hair and skin. Pubic area skin is so much thinner than skin on the rest of the body and you don't want to rub in a bunch of chemicals "down there". Use products made specifically for pubic hair and you won't have ingrown hair, razor rash or other problems after shaving.

Funny Scene From Weeds Season 3

Weeds is a dark comedy about a suburban mother who turns to drug dealing after her husband dies and leaves her and the kids destitute. There are many funny scenes I could recount but my favorite is a "pubic hair" scene from season 3. The brother-in-law of the drug dealing mother is staying with her while trying to get his life together. He is a fantastic cook and gets referred to a movie company shooting a film in a nearby house. Turns out the film is a porno movie but the dear man does his best to concentrate and create a great craft table for the crew. During a break two lovely naked ladies approach and the brother-in-law stops them. He says "Don't come closer to the food. The public health department will shut us down if they find even one pubic hair in the food." Then he pauses and looks down... He'd forgotten that porno films mostly require the actresses to be clean shaven. He gestures to the women to approach and starts fixing them a plate of food. The scene goes on later with his spicy food upsetting the stomach of the star and filming has to halt for the day!

It's a great show to watch and full seasons are available on the internet.

This post brought to you by Hair Care Down There... the shaving kit all actresses should be using!

What Is A Merkin?

A merkin is a pubic hair wig first worn by prostitutes (in 1699) who shaved their pubic hair to prevent lice infestations. However, it shortly became popular for the upper class women to shave and wear a merkin.

Merkins are also used in film production to prevent flashing of the genitals during scenes where the actors are naked. An enterprising young woman in the Netherlands has created a line of merkins for men and women. You can see them at http://www.pubictoupees.com/

If you don't want to go to the expense or trouble of wearing a merkin then consider using stencils to create a beautiful design with your pubic hair. Your partner will be thrilled and you don't have to go totally bald if you don't want to.

You can get stencils and other pubic hair grooming products at Hair Care Down There.

What Is An Epilator?

According to Wikipedia an epilator is an electrical device used to remove hair by mechanically grasping multiple hairs simultaneously and pulling them out. The way in which epilators pull out hair is similar to waxing (though unlike waxing, it only pulls out hairs, it doesn't remove dead skin cells too). Aside from the spring in early spring-type epilators, there are no parts in epilators that require regular replacement. Epilators come in corded, rechargeable and battery operated designs.

The Epilady was launched in 1986 and initially there was a great deal of interest until users realized how painful it was to use this hair removal device. Many epilators have come and gone in the meantime but most people find them too painful to use on pubic hair.

The Ultimate Shaving Kit and The Bikini Shaving Solution promise a pain free bikini line grooming procedure. No epilator has every made that claim!

What's The Deal With Laser Hair Removal?

It seems that everyone and their brother is pushing laser hair removal for pubic hair. Laser hair removal consists of using a high energy laser beam focused on the area to damage the hair follicles. How many sessions you need and how much it costs vary depending on your pubic hair color and thickness.

You'll feel like you have a sunburn for several days after the treatment and you can't just go once. To eliminate hair permanently "down there" you'll need several sessions and it can be very expensive.

I recommend you go for the more inexpensive and less painful option of shaving. Using the right products and tools will make grooming your pubic hair a pleasure and not a pain!

Banish Ingrown Hair

The best way to get rid of ingrown hair is to prevent them in the first place by following shaving instructions for pubic hair removal and using the right products. Ingrown hair occurs when hair that should grow out the follicle turns and grows under the skin. Pressing too hard when you shave, tweezing incorrectly and wearing tight clothes can all be culprits. If you’re prone, you may be able to avoid ingrown hairs by shaving only in the direction of hair growth. HCDT Skin Fix can help prevent future ingrown hairs as well as heal existing ones. If the bump is painful or appears to be getting bigger, it could be infected—and trying to remove it yourself with a needle or tweezers can cause scarring. See your dermatologist instead.

Our products prevent and treat pre-existing ingrown hair. You can learn more about them by clicking the picture below!

Can I Use Nair On My Pubic Hair

This is a question we receive all the time. Nair and other companies have developed creams or lotions for hair removal in the pubic area. However, the skin in the pubic area is very thin and any kind of caustic chemical will burn you severely. If you follow the steps for shaving that come with our pubic hair grooming kits then you won't need to use harsh chemicals.

Male Pubic Hair Shaving

Courtesy of Joqtan Anicama and EzineArticles.com we have an article that guides men for the ultimate pubic hair shave and we have the right products to get you started! Click the pictures for more information.

Male Pubic Hair Shaving

Shaving the family jewels can be lots of work, particularly if you've never done it before. It may take you up to an hour to do it the first time. Don't get all macho and make sure you invest in aftercare. Under no circumstances use an electric razor, the only thing it will do is cause’ you PAIN!

The easiest way to shave your crotch is to start at the bottom. Pull up everything with one hand and embark on shaving from in between your legs upward. Be very careful around the center of the scrotum, since your skin is particularly tender there. Afterward do both sides and finally concentrate on the top of your scrotum, preferably before working on and above your penis. By working at it this way you'll have the hardest parts completed first.

So why go through all the trouble of shaving your pubes? Check out the bonuses that make spending all the extra bathroom time worth every minute.

Most men worry obsessively about the hair on their heads yet rarely give some though about the pubic hairs. But when that hot babe comes along, only then do we realize that maybe spending some time on the magic stick could help us at action time.

Mr. Clean. The penis is a focal point for heat, sweat, and bacteria. Removing your pubic hair makes that area much easier to keep clean, and more notably, smelling clean and manly. She's more likely to explore that area up close if it's well maintained.

If you remove most or all of her pretexts, to performing oral sex on you, isn't it worth the trouble? Pay special attention to removing stray hairs from your shaft. You don't want her choking on your pubes.

Don't Forget The Scrotum. A woman's body is playground of softness and smoothness, so don't you think she'll appreciate the same on you? Silky smooth balls invite both manual and oral affection. She's far more likely to play down there if she doesn't have to use a weed whacker to find it.

The Empire State Building on your crotch! Need I say more? You will swear that you gained at the very least an extra inch in length! If your crotch is not groomed regularly, you probably have pubic hair at least part way up your shaft. Your penis seems to begin where that pubic hair ends. Remove the underbrush and whip out the real magic stick.

Note that some people experience moderate to intense itching the first couple of days after shaving as the pubic hair grows back. Try your first shave on a weekend you avoid moving around like ants in your pants on Monday the itching should decrease or stop if you continue to groom yourself frequently.

And just in case the boys on in the locker room start making fun of you, first and foremost ask them why are they checking you out, especially why are the looking at your dick. In the embarrassed silence that follows, tell them why you did it, that you're having twice as much sex as they are, and what most women won't do with them, they're more than happy to do with you! Then if you feel like it, let them in on your secret.

What's Your Panty Style?

There are so many panty styles & variations that a woman can spend hours shopping for panties online and in person. Save some time by studying our guide of basic panty styles below.

Brief - This panty covers you from your waist to the top of your thighs. It is the most modest and often the most comfortable but isn't the most attractive.

Boy Shorts/Hipsters - Sits very low below the naval and is cut straight across the hips. Covers you to the top of your thighs.

High Cut Bikini - Another version of the bikini that is cut higher on the legs to reveal part of your hips.

Thong - A thong typically has a triangle or oblong piece of fabric between your legs and a small strip of fabric on the sides that expose much of your hips and some of your backside.

String Bikini - Covers you front and back from below your naval to the top of your thighs. Has only strings on the sides and reveals your hips.

Culotte - A modified boy short style panty. It rests just above your pubic area and covers you to the top of your thighs.

G-String - A tiny panty that has strings on the sides that expose your hips and reveals much of your backside.

Bikini - This perennial favorite sits below your naval and covers you to the top of your thighs.

Keep in mind that none of these styles will cover all of your pubic hair if it is unruly and bushy. You will still need a grooming kit from Hair Care Down There in order to look great in your lingerie.

What Is Razor Burn?

According to Wikipedia razor burn is an irritation of the skin caused by using a blunt blade or not using proper technique. It appears as a mild rash 2-4 days after shaving (once hair starts to grow through sealed skin) and usually disappears after a few hours to a few days, depending on severity. In severe cases, razor burn can also be accompanied by razor bumps, where the area around shaved hairs get raised red welts or infected pustules. A rash at the time of shaving is usually a sign of lack of lubrication. Razor burn is a common problem, especially among those who shave coarse hairs on areas with sensitive skin like the bikini line, pubic hair, underarms, chest, and beard. The condition can be caused by shaving too closely, shaving with a blunt blade, dry shaving, applying too much pressure when shaving, shaving too quickly or roughly, or shaving against the grain.

The best way to treat razor burn and bumps is to avoid them! For the pubic hair area using the exclusive formulas from Hair Care Down There.

Quick Fixes For Bikini Irritation

If you experience itching and tenderness after you shave your bikini line you may be forgetting a few important steps:

1. Soak in a bathtub or in the shower at least three minutes before applying your shaving gel. The idea is to soften hair to make removal pain free.

2. Always use a fresh razor and replace when the razor starts dragging on your skin.

3. Use a gel like "Shave" sold at Hair Care Down There rather than shaving cream. Gel is thicker and to make it easier to see where you are going "Shave" goes on clear!

Thepeanutone’s Weblog

"Hairless doesn’t equal modest" is the title of a blog post from Thepeanutone’s Weblog. Thepeanutone wonders if bathing suits were less revealing would anyone feel the need to groom their pubic hair. Given that pubic hair grooming has been popular on and off since the time of Cleopatra it doesn't seem the clothing styles over the years has influenced pubic hair grooming. It's possible education and more modest clothing could influence the decision to groom pubic hair. Read Thepeanutone's post for an honest opinion on the subject.

A Great Review Of The Ultimate Shaving Kit

Hair Care Down There is an e-commerce beauty company that creates products exclusively for pubic hair grooming. Their three step shaving system of exclusive formulas, Shave, Soothe & Smooth, were designed by a woman chemist to that eliminate the rashes, ingrown hair, bumps and itching that some people experience after they groom their pubic hair.

The Ultimate Shaving Kit was the flagship product of Hair Care Down There and it was the winner of Cosmopolitan's Beauty Award for the Best Bikini-line Beautifier. The kit had been out of stock but was recently relaunched in time for summer.

The Ultimate Shaving Kit, a Hair Care Down There exclusive, includes a waterproof aqua carryall case that can be used at home and when traveling. The case keeps the pubic hair grooming formulas and tools discreetly stored between uses and there are extra for your own beauty supplies.

The products inside the care are:

· A style guide.
· The three signature products: Shave, Soothe & Smooth.
· Round-tipped safety scissors with a rubber grip.
· Lightweight and narrow cartridge razor.
· 2-sided magnifying mirror.
· Brush and comb.
· Heart and landing strip stencils and stencil pencil.
· Decorative bindi adhesive jewels to enhance your design.

The instruction guide explains how to use the formulas and tools and it includes tips and color pictures of the various styles of pubic hair grooming.

The Shave, Soothe & Smooth products are a clear shaving gel (so you can see where you are shaving), a spray that prevents itching and rashes and an aloe and green tea moisturizer to keep skin smooth. These products can be reordered separately so that the kit can be restocked.

The instructions are easy to follow and the products do not sting or burn. The designs include a conservative bikini shave and progress to creative designs and bindi jewels.

Hair Removal "Down There"

With all the chit chat and debate about “to shave” or “not to shave”, you’d almost think the idea of shaving pubic hair is something new. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. In fact, pubic hair removal isn’t a new concept at all. Throughout history, women and some men also, have removed their pubic hair, and not just some of it, but all of it.

For example, take a look at some of the beautiful artwork rendered by the Egyptians, Romans and Greeks. Pubic areas of the body were smooth and completely hair free. In modern times swimmers, bodybuilders and biking enthusiasts often shave all of their body hair. So, contrary to the popular belief of some, pubic hair shaving isn’t a trendy fad that was born in L.A. or Manhattan, which is just now catching on in other areas. Perhaps, we’re just now becoming comfortable enough with talking about this personal issue.

But why is shaving still a preferred method for removing pubic hair with so many other options available today? Simply put, it works, it’s affordable, and it gives you complete control over how much hair you remove. Shaving pubic hair allows you to choose whether you want to go completely smooth shaven or whether you want to sport a perfect landing strip or create a cute design using a stencil or template with a stencil pencil. And yes, there are even pubic hair shaving kits and collections on the market that include how-to guides for creating your own personal works of art down there.

Although pubic hair shaving is the most affordable solution for removing hair down there, you do need to be smart about how you do it. Forget shaving cream and disposable razors. While they’ll remove the hair, they’ll also leave you with burning, itching, razor burned skin, not to mention ingrown hairs. If you’re already shaving your bikini area, then it’s apparent that you care about your body. So why not give your pubic area the true pampering and care it deserves? You can enjoy a soothing, smoothing shaving experience inexpensively with a quality personal kit, made just for removing hair down there and caring for the pubic area.

What products should you look for in a personal kit for hair removal "down there"?:

Scissors – for a first-time shave or occasional wild hair
Comb – two sided for easy maneuverability
Mirror – compact in size
Razor – quality-made cartridge type
Moisturizing shaving gel – covers, but allows full visibility
Soothing spritz – prevents irritation from the start
Smoothing lotion – greaseless kind with natural ingredients for a silky feeling

Also look for a pubic shaving solution that includes an easy-to-follow guide for shaving tips and tricks and pubic hair design instructions. You’ll save by buying your hair removal products and tools in a set, rather than buying them individually. Make shaving convenient on overnight trips or vacations with kits that come with their own totes or carrying cases.

Step-By-Step Instructions For Shaving Pubic Hair

Shaving the hair "down there" has always been popular among athletes including bodybuilders and swimmers (both male and female) but now it has become a mainstream grooming option for the general public. This tutorial includes several tips to help you prevent the problems that come with shaving this delicate area including bumps, rash, itching and ingrown hairs. Follow these tips, take your time and above all, be careful!

Step 1 Buy products made for the pubic area.
There has been an explosion in the pubic hair grooming products industry over the past few years. The advantage of using products made for this type of skin and hair is that the formulas normally contain less chemicals and more natural substances. Look for products that will reduce ingrown hair, rashes and bumps and that are perfume and die free.

Step 2 Get your scissors out.
Before getting started, trim the area you are shaving so long, unruly hairs do not clog and dull your razor. Stand with one leg on the side of your bathtub or on the closed lid of your toilet to get your best angle.

Step 3 Get out the bubble bath or shower gel!
Take a warm, 15 to 20-minute bath or shower to soften the hair and skin, exfoliate the pubic area and rinse completely. This helps prevent ingrown hairs. When finished bathing dry your pubic area.

Step 4 A new razor blade is a must.
Use a new razor blade and ALWAYS change your blade (or razor if it is disposable) as soon as you feel yourself pressing harder to get a close shave. Consider also purchasing razors with a smaller razor head to use in tight areas such as next to your thighs or very close to your genitals.

Step 5 This is where you use your foam or gel.
Prepare your skin with a shave gel or foam to make the razor glide more easily. At any time if you need more lubrication apply more cream or gel. It is very helpful to have shaving cream or gel that is clear or that lathers very little so you can see what you are doing and where you are going.

Step 6 Ready, set, shave!
Shave in the direction of the hair growth the first several times you shave. Go over the area with just one stroke. After every stroke tap your razor against the side of the sink to empty the cartridge and rinse the razor often. Once you have shaved completely wash your pubic area and thighs with warm water and a wash cloth. Dry the area completely.

Step 7 Use and ice cube and an astringent formula to prevent ingrown hair.
When you have rinsed and dried lightly rub an ice cube over the skin you shaved to close up your pores and then pat the area dry with a clean towel. Follow this with an astringent formula that contains salicylic acid to prevent ingrown hairs. You can use this type of formula in between shaves too.

Step 8 Moisturizer is the finishing touch.
Finish with a soothing moisturizer that is alcohol and fragrance free. Look for one that contains aloe to prevent redness and/or a rash. Exfoliate gently and moisturize your pubic area every day after you bathe or shower to keep that delicate skin smooth.

Step 9 What to do after you finish shaving.
Shave every other day for the first few weeks; then switch to daily shaving. If you experience itching as hair grows back, do not shave again until the itching subsides. In addition to or in place of moisturizer use shea butter daily to reduce itching and any inflammation. If you used products made for the pubic hair region you should have very few problems.

The Facts About Laser Hair Removal

For centuries upon centuries, both women and men have sought and utilized numerous methods for reducing and eliminating pubic hair. Waxing, shaving, plucking and depilatories are among those methods that have lasted over the years. Regardless of the removal method used, there was always the trouble with ingrown hairs and stubble. However, today’s technological advances provide us with yet another option for those who prefer to walk on the lighter side of the pubic hairline, minus ingrown hairs and irritating stubble.

This currently trendy and en vogue pubic grooming option is laser hair removal, in which an instrument (a laser device) sends a vigorously vibrating beam of light through the skin, directly zapping the hair follicle itself. The hair follicles within the treated area of the skin basically absorb the largest percentage of the emitted beam, which causes them to subsequently die and fall out, although not immediately. Several treatment sessions are generally required to achieve a long-lasting reduction or permanent elimination of pubic hair.

Although the FDA approved laser hair removal as a safe procedure in 1994, the jury is still out with some people regarding certain issues of the process. Pain, while not experienced by all, can certainly be an issue. What is merely a moment of discomfort for some people can be truly agonizing for others, depending upon the variance in individual sensitivity and personal tolerance for pain.

The removal of pubic hair via laser treatment is increasingly popular; however, this process is not the optimum choice for people of all skin tones and hair color. This method of hair removal works best for people who have fair skin and dark pubic hair. The reason? Skin can be seriously damaged if hair follicles are the same color or if skin is dark, simply because darker areas treated naturally absorb more of the beam. Individuals with either blonde or red hair can expect variable outcomes, including disappointment with the results of laser hair removal treatment.

Another downside to this form of hair removal is cost, with prices ranging from several hundred dollars to over a thousand dollars per session. Some individuals have paid thousands of dollars for treatment and are unable to complete the process because of pain or unacceptable results. There are also medical constraints or limitations both prior to and after the procedure. Before opting for this choice, visit the location of the clinic or spa you’re considering. Also, verify its reputation and the credentials of the professionals who work there.

If the con side of pubic hair removal via laser weighs heavier on your mind than the pro side, reconsider shaving as an option. Shaving products have improved dramatically in recent years, with safe and affordable products designed especially for pubic hair removal now available.

Another benefit to shaving is the ability to not just remove the hair but to groom it and create designs. Many pubic hair removal products come with stencils and stick-on jewels that let you be as creative as you want. Instead of being completely hairless you can change your design whenever you want and surprise your lover with your inventiveness.

Pubic Hair Removal Tips

Throughout history, to be bare or not to be bare down there has been a personal choice, both hygienically and aesthetically. Interestingly enough, some of the same methods used centuries ago are used today, but they have evolved throughout history. Art connoisseurs will tell you that both male and females depicted in art from all eras have pubic hair not only removed but also designed into shapes such as hearts or stars!

Shaving is one option that has changed dramatically over the years. From the days of using straight razors on bare skin to the days of using men’s razors and homemade soap for shaving (Ouch on both methods!), pubic shaving has definitely made strides. Use these tips when choosing shaving as your affordable and safe option for removing hair "down there".

Scissors first, if you’re a first-time shaver, or it’s been awhile, make sure to use scissors for a quick trim. This ensures that long, matted hair doesn’t clog or dull your razor.

Secondly, pubic hair is coarse, so it’s best to take a long hot soak in the tub or a leisurely shower before shaving, allowing the pubic hair to become supple and softer.

Third, consider creating a design in your pubic hair. Use a stencil shaped like a heart, triangle or happy face before shaving.

Fourth, choose a quality-made razor with a new blade. Razors made for women usually work best for both males and females, as they’re generally designed to flow with the natural curves of the body.

Fifth, and probably the most overlooked aspects of shaving the pubic area is making sure to use products that are designed especially for pubic hair. Never use traditional shaving cream. One of the main reasons for choosing shaving over other hair removal options is that it gives you control over exactly how much hair you remove. With regular shaving cream, all you do is cover the hair, which means you can’t see where you’re shaving. Choose a gel for optimal visibility and make certain it features added moisturizers for an incredibly smooth shave. Such moisturizers will also protect you from cuts, nicks and painful razor burn.

Sixth, just because you’ve finished shaving doesn’t mean you’re finished. Use post-shaving soothing lotions for preventing ingrown hairs, irritation and itching. Moisturize with a soothing cream that contains natural ingredients such as aloe and Vitamins B and E in caring for your shaved pubic area.

Follow these pubic hair removal tips and purchase products made for the delicate area "down there" and you are guaranteed to have a pleasurable, smooth and sexy shave.
